"Atelopus varius" - how about a joke? What do you get when you cross a critically endangered amphibian with a society that abandons them and treats them like trash? YOU GET WHAT FROGGIN' DESERVE!... While it's unlikely that they'll be shooting anybody, touching these beautiful frogs is not recommended as they highly poisonous. Also called the Costa Rican variable harlequin toad, their populations were once wide spread throughout Central America. At this time however they're only found in Quepos, Costa Rica.
