I think, if they had enough room, putting them in the garage with the door close would have made the movie goer experience a bit better since it would have been darker. Neat idea especially that they can decorate their cars afterwards.
This one house during Halloween did that. They projected the movie Hotel Transylvania onto their garage doors for the trick or treaters to watch when they walk by. Except they didn't have cardboard boxes for the kids. :/
