Most of the teachers I've had were luckily fantastic! However, there are always a few bad apples... For me this depended heavily on the type of school I attended. Some of the most productive and inspiring teachers I've had, that truly had great connections with their students, were public school teachers. Unfortunately, my private school teachers weren't always that great... I think this was because some teachers eventually became disillusioned with the lack of interest of some students, who eventually would rely on their parents' wealth and completely disregard education (not that all private schools are like this of course - I might have been unlucky). In one of those schools my third grade teacher told me (in front of the class) that I would never amount to anything. I was 8. I guess what I'm trying to say is that: we need good teachers to inspire children - especially when considering that when a bad one puts you down, you never forget it.

Obesity is rare where I come from so 'fat babies' normally just means babies with healthy chubbiness (which is necessary for growth) ;)

Yeah... The government hasn't implemented a minimum wage.. They're not the ones who ask companies to meet these 'requirements'. Unions and 'overenskomst' in Denmark are what enable high wages. This is mirrored in either Scandinavian countries. The bargaining power that comes from a lack of legislation regarding wages is why Denmark is not in favour of an EU-imposed minimum wage.

This photo reminds me of the 'purple earth' theory. Apparently, it is likely that earlier plants used retinal pigments rather than chlorophyll to absorb sunlight. Retinal pigments have a simpler molecular structure, and therefore probably evolved before chlorophyll. So, in all likelihood, Earth resembled something like this photo. Perhaps it is not as unnatural as we perceive it to be ;)

They take in orphans related to them...apparently they are able to gauge whether or not they are related.
