You're right. Getting deployed is a very important job that most people wouldn't do. Im probably speaking for most when I say that I'd rather drive a trash truck and get my hands dirty than get shot at ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This stat also doesn't take into account the permanent disabilities acquired from a lengthy career. Almost all of my infantry buddies have fucked up spinal disks and chronic back pain from the frequent 10+ miles of road marching even though they were never injured overseas.
