Well replied, however, I'm pretty sure somebody, somewhere gave a brief on why The Brit's GTFO. Maybe you were asleep that day. I have amended this to agree that What was formerly known as Home Economics is no longer taught. In the 90's there was a fem backlash that resulted in both a wonderful opportunity for female athletes and the downfall of every 7/8th grade guy figuring out how to make his own grilled cheese in Home-Ec.
True, but schools really should provide at least an elective class or something for things like how taxes work and how to get a loan if they don't already if they can have electives for things like frikkin pottery
i think most schools have it at least incorporated into classes, just no one pays attention. i have a hard time believing that math class doesnt go over mortgage and compound interest and whatnot. im never sure why people always bring up taxes since at least the begining years taxes are pretty simple the form walks you through what box to put what in and is pretty idiot proof as long as you figured out how to get your W2 (which is normally as simple as "keep your address up to date with your employer")
In both of the high schools I went to there was a required class where they taught us how to do taxes and basically other skills needed for when we moved out of our parents homes.
ditto, except we had in freaking middle school, but no one paid attention and acted like assholes because it included household stuff and that made it for girls, but it did stuff like taxes and budgets called F.A.C.E family and consumer education, and various things for adulthood were strewn throughout other classes, i remember different letter writing and envelope addressing and resume writing portions of English class and the ideas of budgeting and mortgages used to teach math concepts *while* teaching adult concepts. people just wanna blame education when they were too busy passing notes to learn about compound interest.
Who paid your taxes for the last 16 years? and you never heard the word tax? You must not be from the US. We freaking dumped tea in a harbour because of a sugar tax.
