Like the first comment said, it's showing A squared + B squared = C squared. The demo has nothing to do with volume, that's just an easy way to show that the area of the squares from the legs, equal the area of the square from the hypotenuse.
Yes, the title says that, and its showing you that A squared plus B squared equals C squared, through using colored water, (which yes, is technically volume), to represent the area of the smaller squares. So I don't know what you're going on about.
