Well in that case I apologize. Where I'm from it's simply how we refer to natural redheads to differentiate them from dyed hair redheads. Honestly ginger in my eyes has a very positive connotation in my day to day conversations. I apologize for the misunderstanding
Changetheworld, are you from Europe ? Cause I've heard that a lot of people in Europe don't like red heads for whatever reason, and there was a little boy who killed himself from being bullied because people made fun of hima lot
Well I feel awkward for interuppting now, but DIYROGUE - I'm from America. I never really heard redheads being called gingers until the show South Park did an episode that ended up causing negative comments (and violence) towards redheads.
The hate towards red heads was around a lot longer than south park, but it did cause it to become a rude joke in America rather than the problem it really is.
I don't think shampoo was bashing her, raggedy ann has bright red hair and so does she and there isn't any negative connotation associated with raggedy ann. You're right that bashing people is wrong but I don't think that was what she was doing.
I'm a natural red head and I still have people with hair like the second pic trying to tell me their hair is natural and that mine is dyed because " red head means RED not ORANGE. "
